The Pen Addict Collaboration!

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Brad (the Pen Addict himself) kindly allowed me to produce a post which he then published on his brilliant website! Scroll to the bottom and you'll find a link to it.

Brad began blogging over a decade ago, and it is fair to say he's reviewed quite a few pens in that time. As if publishing a post, sometimes more than one, almost every day wasn't enough, he set up a podcast with his friend Myke where they obsess over every bit of stationery they can get their hands on.

There are over 500 episodes now, which is making me feel unproductive in comparison!

The Pen Addict is the place to go to read reviews of popular products, find new independent pen makers and sellers, and possibly win yourself some freebies in one of the giveaways that are frequently hosted on the website. It's one of the leading blogs in its field and one of my favourites.

I haven't listened to the podcast just yet, but it is next on my agenda. If the site is good, I should imagine the podcast is even better!

Be sure to visit - a wealth of information and entertainment awaits!

What model is the green striped Sheaffer in your picture. I just acquired one at the Atlanta Pen Show, my first vintage pen, and am researching its history.

Your posts are friendly, fun, well written and informative. Glad I found your site

Hi there! Thank you very much - I appreciate you subscribing! The pen is a Sheaffer Balance in Striated Marine Green, I believe. 'Lifetime' is embossed in the nib, indicating that it was guaranteed to last for the lifetime of the original owner. If my research is correct, they were produced in 1936. The nibs are usually 14K gold. There's an article on the Pen Addict Website that you may be interested in: https://www.penaddict.com/blog/2016/8/25/the-sheaffer-balance Only difference is that those are a bit thicker compared to the slim model I have, and those are lever-fill instead of vacuum-fill. I hope this helps you!
