I didn't think my next update would come os soon, but here we are!
After a few hours of intensive research, wading through shockingly overpriced plans and eye-wateringly expensive web hosting servers, I've settled on a host named Krystal which offers a basic plan at a reasonable price per month and a domain which will be renewed yearly at a similarly affordable rate.
This means that once I buy the package, I can get to work designing the website. I'm not yet sure how hard this will be or how long it will take, and also I'm not sure if I can seamlessly migrate my Wix content over to what will be kraftycats.co.uk (that link goes nowhere right now), but if not I may manually copy over my old content, or simply leave it up on this site and start anew. I'll have to see what the actual design process is like and whether it would be feasible to manually copy content to make a final decision.
Either way, I now have a plan of action that should allow me to move forward with KraftyCats and I will be allowed 10Gb of storage on the basic plan instead of the 500Mb on Wix free.
If you're wondering whether this upgrade to a paid plan will mean that you will be bombarded with annoying ads, it shouldn't! I may look into affiliate links or sponsorship posts, but these would only involve companies that I know, trust and rate highly (I'll never recommend you to a product or service that I wouldn't use myself). As for ads, I aim to avoid them but if advertising ever did become present on my website I'd design it to be non-invasive, because pop-up ads are the most infuriating invention in the history of humankind. With luck, it won't even come to that!
I've published this post in the interest of being completely honest and transparent with my readers, as I want you to know the reasoning for the platform switch and any ensuing changes. Thank you for sticking with me for the two years of KraftyCats' existence!
