Some of you may not have heard about this pen brand, and since there is an upcoming review of their pens, I thought I'd tell you more about their company!
Retro 1951 was started in 1990, with 'A focus on producing unique gifts with an emphasis on fine writing instruments and the accoutrements of life'. As the word 'Retro' accompanied by '1951' might have given away, they love nostalgic Americana, and their products are packaged accordingly, in fun designs from the 50s.
They don't just produce fountain pens - they also make rollerballs, ballpoints and mechanical pencils, so there's something to suit every occasion. On top of this they offer 'leather goods and other cool stuff'. It isn't hard to see why their products are popular as gifts! That is, if you can bear not keeping the aforementioned gift...
Their mission statement is 'Life's too short to carry an ugly pen!' and they certainly stand by that. Retro 51 have come up with an amazing range of designs, from space and aeroplane themes, to the best design EVER based around coffee:
As well as a range of glow-in-the-dark designs.
This cannot fail to look cool:
Retro 'Merges the fashionable colours and designs of today with the vintage, quality ideals of "the good ol' days"... it could be best said that "We make 'em like they used to!"'
Many other bloggers are Retro 51 addicts (Check out the Well-Appointed Desk) and own a whole collection full of these pens, so there must certainly be something special about them! I am attracted by the amazing designs. While I am not a huge fan of sci-fi or vintage aircraft, I do like the designs based around these two things. They are executed very well! The knurled top is a trademark of theirs, as is the unique artwork covering the barrels of their pens.
Stay tuned for a review of their colourful writing instruments later this month!

These images were downloaded from the Internet and were not produced by myself. Many thanks to their owners!
Where did you find that Paris pen? I don’t see it on their website.
